Robert Symonds of "Dynasty" dies

Actor Robert Symonds, who began his career as Dr. Taney in the 1973 hit movie "The Exorcist," but who is known better to us as Dr. Jonas Edwards of "Dynasty" and Martin Porter of "Dallas," has died. The actor, who on "Dynasty" showed such great care for the often-despicable Adam Carrington, had prostate cancer. He was 80 years old, ContactMusic.com reports.

Besides being married to Priscilla Pointer, his co-star on not only "Dallas" but on various other productions, Symonds did lots of great classic TV through the '70s and '80s. He kept up the work, too, nailing 2006 roles on "Alias" and "Cold Case." He and Pointer were married 26 years.

BRBTV News Blog Blip: Meanwhile, over in "Dallas," we've got another crew shuffle. Director Gurinder Chadha, who had gone out on maternity leave, has been replaced by Betty Thomas. With this, the movie has taken a more comedic turn, several news agencies report:
