Looking stately and seasoned in his military uniform and considerably younger than Hutch Corrigan, Joseph Campanella kept his eyes on a menacing "Meteor" six years before he portrayed Connie Colby's faithful gentleman caller on "The Colbys."
The 1979 film features a megawatt classic-star cast, namely Sean Connery on a "Bond" break. There's also Karl Malden, Henry Fonda, Natalie Wood, and even the oh-so recognizable Michael Zaslow, so infamous as Roger Thorpe on "The Guiding Light" around that time (remember, Tammy, how we used to joke as kids about how creepy he was?!).
Campanella plays the father of an astronaut whose job it is to help mitigate the threat of the five-mile-wide meteor. His velvety voice is as smooth and respectable as ever, as he monitors the dangerous mission from the communication headquarters.
