It's great to see a "Dukes of Hazzard"-related event, but it's even better to see one that raises money for charity and raises awareness for a good cause. One good example is the Hair Dare Dukes Weekend in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, next month (see earlier posts of this blog for all the info about that). Another one is the Cruisin' for a Cure event in September.
Saturday, September 27 is the day, and Costa Mesa, California, is the place. All proceeds of this one-day event go to the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center for Prostate Cancer Research. More than 3,000 cars are expected to be displayed. Free PSA tests are even offered at the show for men who qualify.
Ben ("Cooter Davenport") Jones is planning on appearing at the event. The show opens at 7 a.m. that day.
