Bjørn checks in again with a "Dynasty" collectible update

For several years our friend Bjørn has shown us wonderful "Dynasty" collectibles and memorabilia on this blog, from drinkware, art and other goodies to a dazzling "Dynasty" dollhouse / scale replica of the Carrington mansion. This hard-core fan of the 1980s primetime soap checks in once again with an update, and it's rather exciting. Emma Samms, our own second Fallon Carrington of "Dynasty," has spoken up since the pandemic as being a COVID-19 long-hauler, and she organized a "Dynasty" Zoom reunion fundraiser for COVID research this past March. You can read more about the cast reunion in this DigitalJournal.com review, and here's what Bjørn has to say about it:

"Got some fun additions to my 'Dynasty' collection. Was also invited by Emma Samms to show my collection to most of the cast during the zoom reunion. Fun to hear them 'oooh' and 'aaah' over artifacts from the show 30 years ago. Fun to talk to them one-on-one as well. As you can see,  my 'Dynasty' dolls has extended their wardrobes now. And Pamela Sue was kind enough to give me stationary from Fallon's desk at La Mirage. ;)"

Mike scores some "Dukes" treasures from a crew member of the show

BRBTV's  honorary procurement chief, Mike, has just procured some items for himself that are of a nice "Dukes of Hazzard" persuasion. These items come from the estate of Ray, nicknamed the "Duke of Disguise," who once worked makeup on our beloved classic "Dukes" TV series. Items from his estate have been selling online, and this gentleman worked a lot of other great classic shows -- you can see his resume below, as well.

Did you know Daisy Duke wore fake eyelashes? Yep, we were surprised, as well. Mike is putting these into a shadow box with a nice photo of Catherine Bach. Though these exact pairs of eyelashes were not likely actually worn by Bach, they are from the stash Ray used to make her up for the show.

And here's a photo Sonny ("Deputy Enos Strate") Shroyer signed for Ray ...

It's always fun to join the Pop Ninja podcast with Patrick Bennett and Lisa Everetts. This past weekend's episode was this author's fourth spin on the weekly series. We got to talk about two fave classic TV shows, "CHiPs" featuring Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox, and "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" starring Darrin McGavin. And besides Erik Estrada, who was red-hot on "CHiPs" in this author's opinion????? Well, you'll just have to tune in to find out!!! It's episode 22 of the second season. Listen in here.

Terrific non-TV Toys: Archie Comics Pops by Funko

Three out of four ain't bad, and we've got three out of four in a set of Archie Comics Pops by Funko. Archie's got his classic outfit on from the earlier days of the comics, Jughead has his trademark "S" shirt, and Betty's got some vintage duds, too. "Riverdale" the TV show this is not. It's the printed page we're talking here, and they're quite delightful in the latest episode of this collectibles series.

Terrific TV Toys: "Batman: The Animated Series" playing cards, 1992

While this author has used this deck of playing cards for many a game of solitaire over the years, along with some card games with friends, there actually are two unique card games "included" in the deck, so to speak -- there are two cards with instructions for these two different games. I've never played them, so you'll have to tell me if they're fun or not. In the meantime, let's take an up-close and personal look at this fantastic item released with a whole flood of merchandise when "Batman: The Animated Series" originally debuted on TV in 1992 ...
