Terrific TV Toys: Scooby-Doo playsets by Playmobil, Part 1: Mystery Machine

A flashlight, some stuff to eat, a light-up case viewer, all kinds of crazy things to help solve mysteries are included in this Mystery Machine playset by Playmobil, released earlier this year. And if you're a parent looking for a Christmas gift for your little Shaggy or Daphne (age 5 and up), this could be just the thing. In this week's episode of the Terrific TV Toys series, which borders on ridiculously long but we'll just call it very long, you'll see the blow-by-blow of a silly gal trying to put this thing together. And it's only part 1 -- we'll continue it (and conclude it; you're welcome) next week.

Argh, Billie!! You can't leave a girl like me hanging this way, lol! This is definitely a nice looking playset, but I kind of wish they'd have stuck to the original shape of the Mystery Machine. This Jimmy-type vehicle shape isn't QUITE cutting it for me. I'm pleasantly surprised at how easily some of the parts went together (like the windshield just popping right in, as well as the wheel assembly). And I know that people will definitely appreciate you making such an indepth and real-time tutorial out of this. I'm not ashamed to admit that when I was trying to put together my Spooky Space Kook blind bag figure, I could NOT figure it out and pulled up YT hoping someone had thought to show him or her self putting it together -- and I did find a video, and it DID help me figure it out!

Can't wait for part 2! There was one thing that I really wanted to know throughout though: The little yellow screwdriver thingy that they included which you needed to install the little red bits... I could have missed it, but I didn't see how it finally worked for you. Was it just a matter of needing the tool to properly push the block into place? Or did you need to turn it or something?

Thank-you for asking — I didn’t explain that at all, and I had to kind of use it off to the side to get it to work. It was a weird gizmo I had not used before, but basically you just used it to pop those small red squares into the bottom of the seats. It’s not turned like a screwdriver, but just hooks in with its unique shape, like a Phillips screwdriver, then you press in to pop the square into position.

Anyway, thank-you for affirming that I was not blathering on for nothing! Lol. Next week’s will be a bit shorter. And interesting that you note the van shape ‘cuz that didn’t even occur to me.

Excellent, thank you for the explanation on the tool! I know it will be helpful to other people -- you are never, ever blathering in videos!

Also, I just had to laugh at this: "Oh, boy, a booklet -- I was hoping for a really brief sheet." I totally get it, but I was like, "Lol, that's literally the opposite of how I react when it IS just a brief sheet: "Oh, boy, a sheet -- I was really hoping for a substantial booklet!" ;D

LOL, that is so funny. Yea, I'm like, let's just make this short and sweet.
