If you're in the Metro Detroit area, or can be in early October, you can catch Diahann Carroll, our own Dominique Devereaux of "Dynasty," speaking at a benefit luncheon for Henry Ford Hospital. Carroll, who's a Tony and Golden Globe winner; an Emmy, Grammy and Best Actress Oscar nominee, besides a beloved "Dynasty" star, also happens to be a breast cancer survivor.
She'll speak at the Mothers, Daughters, Sisters & Friends Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Shenandoah Golf, Banquet & Country Club, 5600 Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield, Michigan. It's a benefit for the planned Francee & Benson Ford Jr. Breast Care & Wellness Center at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. Tickets are $75-$500. For more information about the event, call (313) 876-9237.
