Spotted: Roddy McDowall

Sans that "Apes" thing, Roddy McDowall tended to like those brainy roles. (Well, OK, Cornelius was a pretty smart ape.) And just as he was the highly intelligent and misunderstood Jervis Tetch, aka the Mad Hatter, on "Batman: The Animated Series," he was the highly intelligent and misunderstood physicist Arthur Chapman on the second-season "Wonder Woman" episode, "The Man Who Made Volcanoes."

With his white lab coat and big-ole glasses, McDowall is geeky before geeky was cool. He thinks he's working for world peace as he wields a weapon that wreaks destructive volcanoes across the globe. McDowall is composed and well-spoken, if a bit mad (!) in this 1977 role, 15 years before he voiced the Hatter.

See it for yourself at the WB, and enjoy a full BRBTV synopsis for this and the other "WW" episodes at the IMDb.
