Ben "Cooter" Jones of "The Dukes of Hazzard," proprietor of the wildly popular annual DukesFest, has let folks know some of the details about this year's event. Looks like CMT will sponsor the event for the third year in a row, it will be at the same venue in Nashville as last year, and Jones and his wife and partner, Alma Viator, will be working to ensure some special treatment for all those Lee owners out there ...

Just a line to keep you posted on CMT DukesFest 2007. Things are coming together very nicely. The best news is that once again our whole original cast will join us for the shindig. Yep, John Schneider; Tom Wopat; Catherine Bach; James Best; Sonny Shroyer; Rick Hurst; and yours truly will be your hosts again this year in Nashville.
We're also on pace for well over 100 General Lees and the Generals are going to get the "Star Treatment" that they deserve. This year will also feature a special tribute to Waylon Jennings. We'll keep you posted on that and all the other special happenings.
Last year was a phenomenal success for DukesFest. The only problems we had were because of the really enormous turnout.
Miss Alma and I are working to make sure that this year's event will be just as big, but will flow much more smoothly (knock on wood). We want CMT DukesFest '07 to be a truly memorable weekend of family fun for Dukes of Hazzard fans of all ages.
