Lane Davies to star in new cable TV show

Lane Davies, our own original Mason Capwell of "Santa Barbara," is set to star in the pilot of "Dixie Melodie," a new half-hour comedy TV project for cable.

Produced by Los Angeles-based Sheer Audacity Productions, "Dixie Melodie" will be entirely shot and produced in New Orleans. "We want to show New Orleans in a new, exciting and positive light, through the eyes of our lead character, Melodie," says B.J. Grogan, one of the show's writers.

As the character Frederick Charleston, the Georgia boy Davies will work with cast and crew from New Orleans. Shooting is scheduled to begin in early 2008 in New Orleans.

You can read more about the show at Top40-charts.com, and check out the show's official website at http://www.sheeraudacity.com/dixiemelodie.html.

Spotted: The now-seasoned Ray Abruzzo, our own Sgt. John Zorelli of the latter years of "Dynasty," playing a lobbyist who was the target of a serial cannibal on Fox's "Bones" last night. Though his hair has receded a bit, he's still that hottie who once chased Fallon Carrington!
