It may be silly, but Billy sure must be a dilly

OK, this is kinda weird. In covering the careers of the various stars of our BRBTV shows, a name keeps popping up. Billy Flynn.

Billy Flynn, you might know, is the name of a character in the Broadway production "Chicago." It's also a role that has been taken on by both Tom Wopat, our own Luke Duke of "The Dukes of Hazzard," Maxwell Caulfield, our own Miles Colby of "Dynasty" and "The Colbys," and even John Schneider of "The Dukes," as a reader reminded. Now there's another BRBTV star adopting the role: John O'Hurley, our second Stephen Slade of "Santa Barbara." What gives? Is this a particularly plum role? Is it just fun to do? Who knows? And who knows who next will be Billy Flynn!!!!

TheaterMania.com has more on O'Hurley and his new role, which runs its limited engagement at the Oriental Theater in the Ford Center for the Performing Arts in (ironically) Chicago, on February 24-March 8, 2009. "Chicago" itself kicks off on November 11. BroadwayinChicago.com has ticket info.
